Une Ville by sanfranguy Une Ville by sanfranguy
A very old piece from 2006.
Do you think with 6 years more experience, 90gb more ram and 16 cores, I might be able to do better...

the physical sky deal needs alot of tweeking and renders and slow. have your tried applying a warm AO makes the render faster and also great for day time lighting. well ya need it really for any kind of lighting :P though the GI and ray tracing give it automaticly it takes alot of tweeking and hardware power. very cool scenen though just think the AO needs to be stronger and warmer :P

Yet they can't teach you every single idea that comes to mind.

This piece is nothing more than simple geometry, poor texturing and a Vray physical sky setup. It's a relatively easy setup.

Fantastic work and effects - I use Cinema 4D myself - I am very interested in hearing more about the plugins - namely the Greeble one and the CityGen - do you have any links?

Incredible my friend, i would go nuts modeling all of those details. Plus adding different shaders to add variation..

This is great work. I'm inspired - I'm doing research for background for my mecha-suits :P

tell me about Cinema 4D though: I assume it takes more of the work out of something like this than just making primitives?

Im sure your prolly busy, but ive always been fascinated by city renders. Ive always wanted to put one together but have never been able to because i have no idea where to start, or how to create one without murdering my machine.

Would you be able to give an "in a nutshell" explanation on how you go about making an amazing piece like this?
