I protest

Thu Jun 12, 2008, 2:29 PM
This is one of today's DA choice picks: [link]

From a choice of hundreds of original, creative pieces that were started from nothing and worked into digital masterpieces.

Poser work, be it creative or not. Is nothing more than stock models posed into pre-created scenes, minimal knowledge of the 3d environment required and a quick render.

Instant gratification for such easy 'few click' solutions is unfair to those who actually take their time and produce.

It's not a personal issue that I'm pointing out of jealousy, it's that I see on a daily basis, works that are amazing being missed by the masses.

I don't have a talent for Abstract, there's a little envy there I guess, although it is in some cases the confidence to turn a mess on the screen into something creative.

Personally I've become far too focussed on the technical aspects of 3D and have lost some touch with the creative side.

haha im completely opposite, i'd lose my mind sitting there in C4D detailing everything and using all the fancy render settings and lightings and whatnot. Plus my comp couldnt take that lol

DA 's daily deviation work within a closed network system. Your friend is friend with a gallery director, ect.
I never browse daily deviation, too much crap like you said. Not enough raw technical eye feast. I prefer to browse people's favorites. THats how I get my art fix.

I agree 100% Sanfranguy

well man.. i must say that's one of the better picks from ^Bloodredsangre ... not personal issue either, but i usually disagree with her picks.. (no ofense but they're awful in my opinion =S )

but the one from today is not so bad.. it could be poser work, i know how easy is to use it.. i actually consider it as a software for studying poses, lighting and stuff.. but if you apreciate the angle, the composition, the thrill and others elements in this picture.. maybe you'll see it with other eyes. sometimes the end product is the important..

btw.. DD doesn't mean Quality everytime.. sometimes is more like a lotery, simply luck.. as SC4V3NG3R said, people's favs is the best..

take care ;)
